Heura Lab is inspired by the Greek word heuriskō, meaning “to discover” or “to find” what is hidden.
The name reflects our mission. Heura Lab is building computational models of human psychology to help AI systems and organizations better understand, predict, and anticipate human behavior in order to support better decision-making.
It also reflects our central premise: much of human decision-making is driven by forces we cannot directly observe, such as beliefs, emotions, memories, and social context. These are the underlying structures that shape how people interpret the world, form decisions, and take action.
Heura Lab is focused on making these hidden systems visible and computable.
To do this, Heura Lab is building an interdisciplinary effort—bringing together perspectives across domains. We integrate insights from computational psychology, human reasoning, and cognition and decision-making, alongside work in true data representation and complex systems.
We also draw from domains such as cultural intelligence, narrative and meaning, and diverse cognitive profiles to ensure these models reflect how people actually interpret the world. Together, these perspectives allow us to move beyond isolated theories and toward a cohesive, implementation-ready system of human decision architecture.
By modeling the psychological architecture beneath behavior, Heura Lab enables organizations to design decisions more effectively across domains including business, policy, non-profits, and technology.
Because better decisions don’t just improve system, they shape lives, organizations, and the positive future we can collectively create.
